A DECADE OF DANCE, And Ten more together

From rooftops to warehouses, dive bars to open fields (and sometimes even in theaters), BLiPSWiTCH has had a blast spending the last ten years reimagining spaces and building community through movement.

To everyone who has danced and created with us, been a sponsor of our work, attended a show, donated, volunteered, or simply believed in our vision—thank you.

Together, we have...

    • 130 Movement Artists: dancers, choreographers, teachers, dance companies.

    • 58 Sound Artists: musicians, composers, songwriters, vocalists, bands

    • 28 Visual Artists: painters, mixed media and textile artists, lighting, set and graphic designers, hair, fashion and makeup stylists.

    • 9 evening length productions

    • 11 events focused on platforming inter-disciplinary dance collaborations

    • 21 works presented by other producers at festivals, concerts, fundraisers, etc.

    • 6 commissions

    • 4 film projects

    • Over 300 classes

    • 18 guest teachers

    • 2 week-long workshops

    • Our Offbeat series has platformed over 60 inter-disciplinary artists to share their work.

    • This year we launched our Site-Specific Sponsorship program, awarding a grant, mentorship and production support to selected artists to produce their first evening-length show.

As we step into the next decade, we ask you to join us in sustaining this momentum through our new fundraising initiative— TEN FOR TEN— which invites sustaining support through recurring monthly gift donations in increments of $10 ($20, $50, $100... whatever feels right) to fuel the next ten years of BLiPSWiTCH.

Recurring gifts mean reliable funding, deeper impact, and a stronger arts community, fueling the kind of work that doesn’t always fit neatly into a theater—and doesn’t always want to. From as low as a couple coffees a month to big bold giving that can support a whole project, it all matters and it's all meaningful because of our shared involvement.

What you’re supporting if you pledge monthly for a year…

  • Dancers are so often undervalued as artists. We prioritize increasing our base dancer pay with each BLiPSWiTCH-produced project.

    • $10/month supports guest artist/teacher payments for two classes.

    • $30/month supports 14 hours of rehearsal pay for one dancer.

    • $50/month supports hiring a photographer for 2 hours (for either promotional materials or performance documentation).

    • $70/month supports performance pay for one dancer for an evening length production (8 shows)— this is separate from hourly rehearsal pay.

    • $500/month supports our goal to include a monthly stipend for co-directors Taryn Lavery and Alex Pruitt, for ongoing teaching, marketing, media and administrative work (which currently goes unpaid).

    • $20/month supports audio rentals for an evening length production.

    • $70/month supports 24 hours of studio rentals for rehearsal.

    • $200/month supports lighting design for an evening length production.

    • $500/month supports venue rental for a two-week run.

    • $20/month supports one month of studio rental for community class
      or teacher payments for one month.

    • $30/month supports annual web-hosting fees, where we promote and take class sign-ups.

    • $10/month supports our annual non-profit fees.

    • $20/month supports payment for one artist creating for one of our Offbeat shows.

    • $40/month supports graphic design & print media for presenting artists.

    • $400/month supports our Site-Specific Sponsorship grant.
